This is the morning of. Packing up for camping is so much fun. Spencer thinks so, at least.
Lincoln decided to sport this look all morning long. It's a new trend.
"So is this how you wear it, Mom".
Spencer checking for ticks on Lincoln. I told him all about ticks, so after that, he was a little paranoid. I just wanted him to stay out of the green brush. I didn't think I was gonna tramatize him.
"You ok, Linc, no ticks".
Spencer giving his little bro some brotherly advice.
There were squirrels everywhere, so the boys loved to watch them. They definetly weren't shy, I mean, we're in there territory.
The infamous stance of Lincoln. He walks around like this all the time.
Lincoln discovered dirt this trip, he really liked it. Spencer can't stand being dirty. Lincoln could care less.
Spencer found an inch worm. "Look, mom I found a friend, can I keep him."
The boys putting up the tent. Big helpers.
Our home away from home. The boys were loving it.
Lincoln thought it was so funny that he was on Mom's bed.
The next morning. All ready for breakfast.
Those squirrels were all over the place. Lincoln loved to sit in his chair and watch them, even though he didn't see the one right by his chair.
Spencer named this one "Gus Gus", he was a fat little thing.
We watched these for hours, who needs tv.
Lincoln was really enjoying camping. We had some friends come in for a night to have some fun. They were so impressed by Jason's cooking. I didn't cook a thing, Jason did it all, it was so awesome. He did a great job and made gourmet meals everyday. They were so yummy!!
"I see you"
So this is when Lincoln was supposed to be napping, this is what I walked into. He was trying on Jason's hats.
Spencer was checking on Lincoln napping. No such luck!!
It was too bright in the tent for Lincoln too nap, but he did stay in there awake for a long time.
The nature all around. It was so beautiful!!!
This was the river that ran right next to our campsite. It was sooooo loud.
Lincoln with his dad on a hike we took on to follow the river upstream. The hike was supposed to be just a little one and 3 hrs later we decided to head back to camp. We just got carried away and the boys were such troopers. They just kept pace and never once complained. Lincoln sacked out in his dad's arms on the way back.
Spencer giving me a huge "cheese" face.
Lincoln found an inch worm on the hike.
This is how Lincoln walked beside his dad most of the hike. One hand in hand and one hand in somewhere else.
This is the other way Lincoln traveled. There was a lot of streams we had to cross to keep going upstream.
Lincoln kept putting his fingers in Jason's ears. Keeping them clean, I guess.
My 3 men.
Spencer kept stopping along the river and we had to take a picture of the water with him in it, he said.
See, I told you.
This river was really beautiful and sooooo cold.
Lincoln enjoying a rest from the hike.
Jason wanted Lincoln to feel the water.
He felt it and them did his "Brrrrr" face.
Spencer's turn.
This rock was in the middle of the river so we kind of jumped to get to it, it's ok I only dropped one of the kids, but you can't tell which one. Just kidding, no kids were harmed in the process of taking this picture. I promise.
I really didn't think we'd be taking photo ops when we were on our hike. Can you tell?
Jason wanted to get a picture on this rock with Spencer, now mind you he had Spencer on his back holding on for dear life and he had to use both hands to get across the rock whick meant none were holding onto my little boy. I was not that happy about this. My heart was pounding like crazy, I was so scared. But Jason had it all under control, he told me anyways. I was happy when it was over.
This was the end result. A good picture, but not really worth it, to me. I was just picturing the worst possible scenario.
This was when they were getting ready to mount up to come back to solid ground. I held my breath the whole time.
Again them coming back.
So you blame me for worrying?
Dad and son, they have the same stance. It's really funny.
On our hike back, we finally found a road after 3 hours and followed it back to camp.
So cute!!!
The story behind this is Spencer and I went to go get more firewood from the campground hosts and on the way back Spencer says, "Mom, look a deer" and I said, "ok Spencer, whatever you say" and then he says "no, mom really look it's right there". I couldn't believe it, it was right there, next to our bathroom. About 10 feet from the car. I didn't budge. Even when Spencer yelled out, "Hey deer, we're over here. Hey deer, did you hear me." That deer stayed there for a long time. It was right next to our camp. Really cool.
I couldn't get a very good picture.
This was our campsite. It was a very nice site. We were on the end on a loop so not many cars came by, which was nice.
This was how covered our tent was and right behind that was the river.
Spencer and Lincoln enjoying the joys of nature while watching a movie. Hey, we all have to get our pleasure sometime. They were waiting for breakfast.
