Disclaimer: I have made this blog for the intent to show loved ones what we've been up to lately. I also want to one day print it out and have it as a journal for the kids. I am not doing this to brag at all. I just thought this is a great way for you all to see what life's been like for us and what we've been doing. I love to see other people's blogs and see their pictures and see what they've been up to. That's all I'm doing here. Thank you!

Father's day!!

So I thought I'd take this time to tell everyone how much I adore my husband and father-in-law. It was hard not being able to spend the time down in St. George with the only dad I have in my life. And can I just say, he's top notch.

First off, I need to say how much I LOVE my hubby. He is the greatest husband to me and father to Spencer. They are the bestest of buddies. I know it will be like this forever. Spencer just adores his dad. It melts my heart watching them interact. Jason is a kid at heart himself so it's really fun to see them together. I knew when I first met Jason that he was going to be an awesome dad and he has proven that to me time and time again. When we first started dating, I was amazed at the way he was with children. They just flocked to him. He is the greatest dad and best friend a gal could ever ask for. I have a great guy by my side and the best thing of it is that I know he will be by my side forever and ever. I am so lucky!!!!

Now I need to get to the other man who I just love dearly. This is my father-in-law. He is just the man I know my husband is trying to be like. He is truly one of a kind. I just admire this man so much. He has been the kind of example any man would try to emulate. I can't say enough about him. He loves his family unconditionally and tries with all his might to help out in any way he can. He just ADORES his grandchildren and they ADORE him just as much. "Papa" is what they call him and they just flock to him whenever they are around. Spencer idolizes his Papa and is his little puppy dog when we visit. Wherever Papa is, Spencer is right behind. We love him so much and we can't tell him enough how thankful we are that he is in our lives. I especially am thankful that I lucked into such an awesome father-in-law that knows exactly what to say when you need a pick-me-up. He is just the sweetest guy ever. So Happy Father's Day, Dad. You deserve a great one.

I heard a quote over the radio on Father's Day that I thought fit perfectly. It's from Douglas MacArthur-
Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.
Build me a son whose wishes will not take the place of deeds; a son who will know Thee ~ and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge.
Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.
Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.
And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself to seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, and the weakness of true strength.
Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, "I have not lived in vain."

This pretty much sums it up. I just want to let my husband know how much I love him for everything he does for me and to my father-in-law, thank you for building a son that is so good in every way. He learned everything from you and I have to say "Good Job"!!!!! I know he looks up to you everyday and hopes that one day he can be just a good of father to his kids as you are to yours. And so far he's doing a great job. So thanks again and we wish we would've been there with you for your day. We thought about you all day long and hope you had a great Father's day.
